Parting Reflection

Looking back on my experience with the Social Sciences Elective class, I do believe that I generally had a good time. While a lot of things that were tackled in the subjects were already topics I was knowledgeable about, as I often look into issues regarding mental health in my free time, there were a lot of things I was unaware of. For example, the topics on the science of learning really intrigued me. I always heard that the best time to study was before bed, but I didn't understand why. Since I didn't believe it was real, I had little reason to try it. When I learned the reason behind it, I immediately tested it out with my review. Surprise, it actually did work. I noticed that I was better able to recall things, so thank you SSElect for saving my Medical Technology Laws and Bioethics grades, ahaha. I also really appreciated that the class meaning to be a 'safe space' was actually real, and not an empty platitude that many people seem to make. When the situation got rough, our professor did her best to accommodate us and adjust the workload that we have to be manageable. Thoughtfulness like this helped me with my mental health which is admittedly following a downward trend. Overall, I will reiterate that I had a good time in our class, and that I am grateful for the grace that our professor handles tough situations with.
